Armstrong CD-33S series Thermodynamic / Disc Trap is Compact in design. It is not recommended for Outdoor Use as the rain will cause the Trap to blow Live Steam. It is prone to Air Lock on start up and has a short life as wear & tear is high. Unless space is a limit, it is advisable to use Inverted Bucket type Steam Trap for Saving Energy.
Armstrong A series Float & Thermostatic Trap is for Process use with big Capacity. Since the Condensate Discharge hole is located at the bottom, it is prone to Plug by Dirt. Thus, Y-Strainer is crucial to be installed Upstream of the Trap. Furthermore, Check Valve needs to be installed Downstream to prevent Back Pressure from destroying the Float. If Stalled issue happens due to Low inlet pressure normally found in PHE installation, request Armstrong Double Duty Trap.
